Siesta Quarter Horses began in 1976 with the gift of two old broodmares
and the purchase of a young stallion by two novices who, if they had
known better, would never have taken these horses into their lives.
Participation in the competitive show world came as the result of
crossing that stallion onto a mare that nobody wanted. The resulting
foal, Lucky Leo Sunset, turned into a big, beautiful gelding. In spite
of his owner's ignorance, he stood out and beat many of the best horses
showing in that time.
From the first show with borrowed trailer and equipment, a passion
took hold and has resulted in many years of showing, training and
breeding halter, pleasure and all-around horses. Many have gone on
to successful careers all the way to the AQHA world show level. Most
of the time this was done around a full-time work schedule in public
education. With the encouragement, support and friendships throughout
the industry, it has been our good fortune to own, show and breed
horses that sported some of the best bloodlines in the industry.
Throughout the years, it has been the goal of Siesta Quarter Horses
to work with others in an honest, fair and supportive fashion that
promotes mutual success. The friends made along the way have added
immeasurable joy to life, and we look forward to continuing that process.
We offer the following stallions for your mares in the expectation
that they can add lovely babies to your breeding program.
